License your Dog - it's the law! The State of Michigan requires that the owner of a dog that is four or more months old apply for a license. If your dog is lost, its tag will also help law enforcement find you! Marquette County Central Dispatch has access to the County Treasurer's database of licensed dogs and can track down the owner at any time if the dog is wearing its county license.
Dog License rates effective January 1, 2014!
In 2009, Marquette County stopped issuing calendar year licenses; license expirations are now based on when a dog receives its rabies vaccination. All dog owners should obtain their dog license in the month in which their dog receives its rabies shot! If you have any questions about when your dog needs to obtain a new license, please call the Treasurer's office at 906-225-8425.
*Three-year license available only in conjunction with a new rabies vaccination
