The Hon. Michael J. Anderegg has been a Probate and Juvenile Court judge for the past 31 years. Prior to being elected judge, he was a Legal Services staff attorney and an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney.
Judge Anderegg is a past president for the Michigan Probate Judges Association and is currently President of the Upper Peninsula Probate Judges Association. He served three years as President of the Children's Charter, a statewide children's advocacy group, five years on the Michigan Committee on Juvenile Justice, and eight years as a trustee of the national Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges. In 2001, he received the President's Award for meritorious service to that organization.
He is the Editor of Inter-com, the newsletter of the Michigan Probate Judges Association, and his court was the lead agency for Project WEAVE, one of the ten Reclaiming Futures sites in the nation funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
He is a graduate of Harvard College and the University of Michigan Law School and a veteran of the United States Army.
