Marquette County Cares: A Communities That Care Coalition
Marquette County Cares (MC2) is a coalition of community members working together to promote a safe, healthy, and supportive community. With funding from the Northcare Network, MC2 utilizes the Communities That Care model as a structure for evaluating the risk factors and protective factors in our community and helping OUR community put programs in place to address these factors.
The Community Outreach Division maintains a guiding role with Marquette County Cares, providing a CTC facilitator to assist and train coalition members. Please contact Mary Harris, MC Squared Coordinator, for any questions regarding coalition activity at 906-315-2613.
The next Quarterly MC2 meeting will be Friday, February 23th, 2018 at the Marquette Alger Regional Educational Service Agency (MARESA) Building, 11:30 a.m. Please join us with your lunch, as we discuss next steps for our community.
Marquette County Cares (MC2) is currently promoting a video production competition to inspire youth to promote healthy living in Marquette County. We challenge all middle school, high school and NMU students to create PSAs demonstrating what “We Will” do, to live a healthy, drug-free lifestyle. Registration for NMU students remains open. Contest details can be found at MARESA’s homepage at www.maresa.org. Cash prizes will be available for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place PSAs, due to generous donations from KBIC, Superior Health Foundation, Marquette Rotary, Thrivent Financial, Grandparents Teach Too, and Iris and Ronald Katers.
Enjoy the winners of the 2017 Video PSA contest!
