The Marquette County Health Department, under contract with the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality, is charged with conducting annual inspections on all licensed public swimming pools and spas. Our current fee schedule lists our fees for these services.
As a courtesy to pool and spa owners and operators, we also conduct quarterly sampling for bacteriological analysis at no cost to the facility owners. We investigate complaints with regard to these facilities and institute enforcement action where necessary.
Plans and specifications for new facilities are submitted to the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality for approval.
