Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program
Early detection of breast cancer can mean survival for 90% of women and Mammograms can detect a cancerous tumor up to two years before it can be felt.
- Regular Pap tests greatly increase survival rates for cervical cancer.
The Marquette County Health Department is here to provide these screening services to you!
For early diagnosis and prompt treatment of breast and cervical cancers, experts recommend the following schedule:
For Women Age 29 - 39
- Breast self-exam each month
- Clinical breast exam every three years"""
For Women Age 40 and Over

Mammogram every year
- Clinical breast exam every year
- Pelvic exam
- Pap test performed according to program guidelines
The Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Program through the Marquette County Health Department provides the following services to women ages 40 to 65 who meet the income guidelines:
- Clinical breast exams
- Mammograms
- Pelvic exams
- Pap tests
- Follow-up colposcopy (if necessary)
- Breast consultation (if necessary)
